WHY:

The Inaugural Drone Competition aims to inspire and motivate students to pursue STEM-related careers. Students work in teams and, depending on the team’s level of expertise, can design, build and modify their drones to meet competition specifications. "Drone racing is an exciting experience, and working with the new technology that is part of our future is fun," said South Plantation High School junior Morgan Anderson.

Through the South Plantation High drone program, students learn about technology, flight safety, FAA rules and regulations, and drone uses in agriculture, science, real estate, construction and a variety of career industries.
