CAF Red Tail Squadron Visits Deerfield Beach Middle

Students at Deerfield Beach Middle School Get Special Opportunity to Learn About the Tuskegee Airmen

Local media are invited to Deerfield Beach Middle School March 9-12 to see the positive influence on students as they visit the CAF Red Tail Squadron’s RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit, a mobile theater that travels the country to inspire young people through the history and legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen – America’s first black military pilots and their support personnel.

Broward County Public Schools has a new magnet program at Northeast High School.  The Alternative Energy magnet program is a premier program with a rigorous and challenging curriculum that will engage your child. We’ve all seen the ripple effects that a great school can have. During my recent travels to Honduras, I saw the ripple from a Ft. Lauderdale high school and its potential to lift thousands of people out of poverty.

We often talk in the education world about “turning a school around.” It’s shorthand for what is often the work of a charismatic educator who leads reforms that result in vastly improved teaching and learning.

Hallandale High School Receives $75,000 Donation to Launch Dr. Oz’s HealthCorps Program

A special check presentation ceremony is taking place to announce a $75,000 donation by The Tibor & Sheila Hollo Foundation that will be used to bring the unique HealthCorps program to Hallandale Magnet High School.

This list, separate from the overall America’s Best High Schools Newsweek list, ranks schools that do an excellent job of preparing students for college while overcoming the obstacles of a low socioeconomic population.
