Seven Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) were named by the Magnet Schools of America (MSA) as Magnet Schools of Excellence and Magnet Schools of Distinction and are in the running for the title of the nation’s top magnet schools.

Merit awards are based on commitment to high academic standards, curriculum innovation, successful desegregation/diversity efforts and the consistent delivery of quality services to all school stakeholders. The schools will be honored at the 30th Magnet Schools of America Conference in April in Los Angeles, California. School representatives will receive a plaque during the awards ceremony that is the culmination of the conference.

The Magnet Schools of America (MSA) is a national organization whose mission is to provide leadership for innovative instructional programs that promote equity, diversity and academic excellence for all students in public school choice programs.
